PURPOSE OF ISM CODE:

To provide the international standard And the safe management and operation of ship and pollution prevention.

AIM/ OBJECTIVES OF ISM

1. ensure safety at sea,

2. To avoid the losses of life and human injury,

3. and avoidance of damage to the environment, in particular to the marine environment, and to property

APPLICABLE TO:

ALL SHIPS EXCEPT GOVERNMENT'S SHIPS

ISM CERTIFICATES:

CERTIFICATE ISSUED BY;

flag state or authorized classification society.

MAIN DOC

main doc is issued to the company following successful audit of shore side asper the (sms) safety management system.
evidence required that system is operating last 3 months operating onboard.
validity 5 years
annual survey 3months before the anniversary.

MAIN SMC

INTERIM DOC

interm doc will given to newly build ship or new type of vessel added to the fleet.
company will request to full fill the sms and ism requirement within 12 months.
validity 12 months

SHORT TERM DOC:

at the date of audit auditor will issue short term doc for the proof of audit has been done,

INTERIM SMC

to get smc should kept doc, and interim doc, and short term, doc
it will provide for new company or certain type of vessel added to fleet or change in flag.
must be full fill the ISM requirements.
validity 6 months

SHORT TERM SMC:

At the date of audit , auditor will issue the short term smc , proof of audit has been done,
Validity 5 months
